I'm Nichole, though just about everyone calls me Nikki. I live in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, where I've spent nearly my entire life.

I'm a crochet artist, pattern designer, lifelong learner, coffee enthusiast, and someone who's probably collected more crochet goodies than any one person should reasonably own.

(Though if you're a crocheter, you already know that's probably impossible. 😉)

I don't have a team behind me, and I don't mass produce anything. What you see here is simply me, a crochet hook, a lot of yarn, and a passion for creating things that I hope bring a little joy to someone else's day.

🧶 So... how did this all begin?

I've been crocheting for over 30 years.

Like so many of us, I picked up a crochet hook as a kid and never really put it down.

Over the years I've made a little bit of everything.

Blankets.

Scarves.

Bags.

Home décor.

Accessories.

Wearables.

If there was a stitch I hadn't tried yet...

I probably wanted to.

Even after all these years, I still get excited when I discover a new stitch pattern or technique.

That curiosity is probably what has kept crochet so exciting for me all these years.

✨ Why I Started Designing

For a long time, I loved bringing beautiful crochet patterns to life.

Eventually I reached a point where I kept thinking...

"I wonder if I could create something of my own?"

So I tried.

Some ideas worked.

Some absolutely didn't.

I've frogged more projects than I could ever count.

I've spent hours staring at a piece wondering why something felt "off."

I've learned that designing isn't about getting everything right the first time.

It's about being willing to experiment, learn something new, and keep going until it feels right.

I'm still learning every single day...

and honestly...

I hope that never changes.

Every new design teaches me something, and I carry those lessons into the next one.

☕ When I'm Not Crocheting...

You'll usually find me with a cup of coffee nearby.

I love beautiful sunsets.

Summer thunderstorms.

Plants.

Animals.

Learning random facts.

And occasionally disappearing down an internet rabbit hole because I suddenly need to know how or why something works.

If something makes me stop and say,

"Huh... that's really cool."

There's a pretty good chance I'll end up reading everything I can about it.

Home is shared with my little Chihuahua, Sketchy, who has proudly appointed himself head of crochet supervision, along with my two sugar gliders, JoJo and Jelly, who somehow manage to make every day a little more entertaining.

If you've followed me for very long, you've probably noticed that blue has always been my favorite color, with purple following close behind. That said, I genuinely appreciate beautiful color palettes of every kind, and choosing yarn colors can sometimes take longer than crocheting the project itself!

I mostly enjoy working with DK weight (weight 3) yarn, along with some weight 4 yarn, usually with a 3.5 mm or 4 mm crochet hook comfortably in my hand.

I also have a bit of a collection problem...

Well...

a crochet collection problem. 😂

I absolutely love collecting crochet goodies, especially stitch markers. Hooks, notions, project bags, patterns... if it has something to do with crochet, there's a pretty good chance I'll convince myself I need it.

Do I actually need more stitch markers?

Probably not.

Will that stop me?

Absolutely not. 😄

💙 Why Serenity Crochet Means So Much To Me

Crochet has been there through every chapter of my life.

The easy ones.

The difficult ones.

The exciting ones.

The uncertain ones.

It's challenged me.

Comforted me.

Frustrated me.

Inspired me.

And somehow...

it always keeps pulling me back.

Serenity Crochet grew from that journey.

Not because I wanted to build the biggest crochet business.

But because I wanted to share something I genuinely love with other people.

One of the greatest surprises along the way has been the incredible community I've found online.

Through social media, I've connected with fellow crocheters, customers, and kind people from all over the world who encourage me, celebrate my successes, cheer me on through challenges, and remind me why I love sharing this journey.
